Barnett Bruce, 79, of Clinton, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2019. He was born April 15, 1940 in Clinton, Arkansas to the late Marion and Elizabeth Turner Bruce. Barnett was a truck driver, a member of the Pleasant Grove Cemetery Board, Patterson Masonic Lodge #111 and the Alread School Board for 29 years. He enjoyed walking his dogs and hunting for Indian marker trees.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ruth McCormac Bruce; children, Waymon Bruce and wife Mary of Clinton, Jeff Bruce and wife Tami of Clinton, Bill Bruce and wife Lisa of Spring, Texas; siblings, Cindy Johnson, Dewey Bruce, Othel Bruce; grandchildren, Melissa Hawkins, Essie Beck, Ryan Bruce, Nikki Bruce, Olivia Bruce, Ian Bruce, Rhys Bruce; great grandchildren, Alex, Paxton, Kian, Penny, Izzy, Maddox; several nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.
Barnett is preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Bruce.
Pall Bearers are, Waymon Bruce, Jeff Bruce, Bill Bruce, Ryan Bruce, Sam Hoffman, Justin Proctor.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 26, 2019, 9:00 a.m. with services following at 10:00 a.m. at the Alread School Gym in Alread with Brother Richard McCormac officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Alread.
