Obituary for Billy Lee Patterson

Billy Lee Patterson 86, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Billy was born February 3, 1936, to Gussie and Eula Mae Patterson in the small town of Oark, Arkansas as the first of 12 children in the family. He worked many jobs throughout his life hauling cattle over the neighboring states and then landed in Columbia, Missouri where he met and married his wife of 57 years, Pearl. After they married, he began working in stave mills. He began working with Independent Stave Mills in 1984 and retired in 2014.

Billy is preceded in death by his wife Pearl, his father Gussie, his mother Eula Mae, brothers, James Patterson and Ronnie Patterson, and his sister Betty Pritchard.

Billy is survived by his four children, Linda Williams and her husband Stephen of Calico Rock, Arkansas, Karen Patterson of Leslie, Randy and his wife Trena Patterson of Leslie, and Terry Patterson of Austin, Texas along with two grandchildren, Kimberly and Jared Callahan of Leslie and Matthew Williams of Calico Rock. He was blessed to have one great-grandson, Landon Lee Callahan of Leslie, who brought him so much joy. He was also blessed to help with taking care of his nephew, Jamie Patterson and his niece, Susan Patterson while their father was working as a truck driver.

Billy is also survived by his sister Ruby Bradshaw and her husband, Gordon of Greenland, Arkansas, sister Frankie Smith and her husband Eddie of Greenland, Arkansas, Roberta Wilbourne of West Plains, Mississippi, brother Lonnie Patterson and his wife, Jackie of Evansville, Arkansas, Larry Patterson and his wife Becky of Ozark, brother Phillip Patterson and his wife Mary of Alma, Arkansas, Phyllis Miller and her husband Larry of Marietta, Oklahoma, and Brenda Winton and her husband Jerry of Van Buren, Arkansas.

Billy had the privilege of being part of the LaRoe family that he married into with Pearl. Also, there are many nieces and nephews that made a special impact on his life on both sides of the family. Uncle Billy would be the cook when it came to fried fish or barbeque.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 10:30 am at the Leslie First Baptist Church in Leslie, Arkansas. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Chris Reade officiating. Interment will follow at the Leslie Cemetery.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made in honor of Billy to Leslie Cemetery.
