Douglas O. Vanliew, 80, of Shirley, Arkansas, departed from this world on Monday, August 24, 2020. He was born December 27, 1930 in Brian County, Oklahoma to the late Jewel Matthew Vanliew and Audrey Leuwayne Harrison Vanliew. Douglas served in the National Guard for some time and also worked at the rock quarry as a foreman mechanic. In his spare time, he loved working on automobiles.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Dane O’ Dell Vanliew and wife Vivian Claudine Vanliew, Auderia Leuwayne Cooper and husband Ricky Cooper Jr.; one sister, Leuwayne Coble; grandchildren, Ricky W. Cooper III, Annabelle Grace Cooper; many nieces, nephews, friends, and other family members.

Douglas is preceded in death by his parents, Jewel, and Audrey Vanliew; wife, Verna Dean Vanliew; brothers, Glen Vanliew, and Larry Vanliew.

A graveside service will be held Friday, August 28, 2020 at Lute Mountain Cemetery in Shirley with Randall Ramsey officiating.
