Obituary for Eugene Clarence Churches

Eugene C. Churches, 84 of Clinton, Arkansas, was born November 27, 1935 in Stratton, Colorado and left his earthly body on June 24, 2020 with his children at his side. Eugene, aka "Church" was an avid license plate and antique car collector who was friendly and unpretentious with everyone he met; he truly enjoyed engaging in conversation and 'never met a stranger'! Although dad served in the Air Force, he loved trucking and retired as a city bus driver for S.C.R. T. D. in Los Angeles, California. After retiring, "Pop's" enjoyed fellowship dancing at the nearby Senior centers, which kept him healthy until Dementia took its toll. Mos importantly, "Papa Church" accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior and is now in his presence.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Leona; brother, Harold; son, Jason and his children's mother, Mary.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Barbara Carrington (Rick), Mike Churches (Lisa), Bobby Churches, Andy Churches, Randy Churches (Noelle); grandchildren, Alex (Chris), Jesse, Haven, Katelynn, Michael, Andrew, Ashley, Jacob, Brittany, Eric; great-grandchildren, Evie, Ranger; brother, Don (Jackie), and other family and friends.
Visitation will be a 11:00 a.m. with services starting at 11:30 a.m. at Plant Baptist Church with Rick Carrington officiating. Burial will follow at Plant Cemetery.
Pall Bearers are Jesse Churches, Andrew Churches, Chris Ragland, Tim Parker, Tony Millsaps, and Lucas Emberton.
