Obituary for Floyd "AJ" Benson

Floyd ‘AJ’ Benson, 63, was born Thursday, July 10, 1958, in Hayti, Missouri to the late Floyd and Virginia Benson, and he passed from this life surrounded by his family Wednesday, November 3, 2021.

AJ loved racing, he also liked to drive like a race car driver. Of course, that is how he was given the nickname AJ. One of his passions was antiques. He loved refurbishing old things and trying to do his best to make them look new again or even better than before. You could always catch him sharpening knives or working in the yard. AJ was a great man who could always make you smile. He had a great sense of humor that went along with several funny sayings that his family referred to as his Southernisms. He is going to be missed by many who loved him dearly.

He is survived by his children, Derek Benson, Nikki Benson, Jeffrey Spencer, Johnny Spencer, Jason Spencer, Christy Shaddon, grandchildren; Troy Spencer, Tayler Spencer, Tyler Spencer, Shalee Lancaster, Jason Jr. Spencer, Daitin Spencer, Koti Quarry, sisters; Carolyn Benson from Beebe Arkansas, Brenda Guffey from Lonoke, Arkansas, brother, Crockett Benson from Sinath, Missouri, numerous other family members, and many friends.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later time.

Clinton Funeral Services has been given the honor to be entrusted with these arrangements.
