Obituary for Gary Cossey

Gary  Cossey
Gary Dale Cossey, 58, of Clinton, passed away Monday January 19, 2015 at his home. Born April 18, 1956 to Claude and Audrey Cossey, Gary grew up in Bee Branch Arkansas. As soon as he was old enough, he joined The Marine Corp where he was the number one sharpshooter on his base for 2 years. At the age of 22 he was gifted with a son, Josh, who was his pride and joy and his sidekick for the remainder of his life. His childhood dream was to be a cop and later on he joined the Damascus Police Force becoming their Police Chief. He then joined the Van Buren County Sheriff's Department under Mike Bridges. He was on their Drug Task Force for the 20th Judicial Drug Task Force and a K9 Officer. He later went to Bosnia to help in training their police officers. Upon returning home, he fought a 10 year courageous battle with Cancer.
Gary is survived by one son and daughter in law, Josh and Paula Cossey of Bee Branch; siblings Diane Hutto, Rick Cossey and Dennis Cossey all of Bee Branch, James Cossey of Naylor Arkansas, and David Cossey of Vilonia Arkansas. Grandchildren; Kaylee and Lindsey Cossey. Step-Grandchildren; Austin, Ashley, Colby, and Caitlin Sowell. Great grandchild Kensey Pruitt along with many other nieces, nephew and friends.
Gary is proceeded in death by his parents, brother, Glen Cossey and sister Barbara Ann Howard.
