Obituary for Jeri Lynn Cooley

Jeri Lynn (Mahaffey) Cooley, went to be with her Lord on March 15, 2022, at the age of 62, in her home located in Clinton, Arkansas surrounded by family. She was born in Saint Marys, Ohio on November 16, 1959, to the late Cletus Jerome Mahaffey and Wanda Lou (Hicks) Mahaffey.

Jeri was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James J. Cooley, brother, Karl Edward Mahaffey, sister, Mary Louise Mahaffey, grandparents, Charles Edward Hicks and Naomi (Osborne) Hicks, Eugene Hicks ‘Sam’, Donnie Hicks, Vernon Hicks, Wayne Miller, aunts; Delores and Tob Derossett, Phyllis and Everett Lauth, Joy and Rainer Brodnicki, and Mary Agnes Hicks.

Jeri no doubt was a lover of animals, exotic animals included. She has raised dogs and horses most of her life and found joy and comfort in sharing love. Jeri had a hobby of collecting things and also fishing. Oftentimes she could be found in the garden or tending to beautiful flowers. Making things grow was one of the many things she was talented at doing. Above all the things she enjoyed doing and was good at nothing compared to what she loved the most, her grandchildren. Spending time with her grandchildren, teaching them things, and nurturing them with love was what she did the very best. All that knew her loved her, and she will dearly be missed.

Those left to hold on and cherish the precious memory of such a good-hearted lady are her daughters, Christina Patton, of Center Ridge, Arkansas, Amanda Tuell of Clinton, Arkansas, son and daughter-in-law, Jerred and Crystal Cooley of Clinton, Arkansas, eight grandchildren; Shyianne Maxwell, Dominick Teague, Austin and Gavin Tuell, Faith Cooley, Hope Cooley, Emma Cooley, Abby Holland, aunts: June and Denny Dorsten, Bonita and Eric Welker, Pauline Miller, aunts-in-law; Shirley Hicks, Brenda Hicks, many other family members, and friends.

A private service will be held for the family.
