Joan Betty Engelhardt, 84, of Scotland, passed away September 1, 2017. She was born October 29, 1932 in Mamaroneck, New York to Andrew Gottlieb and Lydia Winkler Pekrul. She attended Rowan Presbyterian Church and enjoyed cooking and reading.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter LeeAnn Itterly and husband Kenneth of Elgin, South Carolina; son George F. Engelhardt and wife Vonna of Scotland, Arkansas; and sister Dorothea "Dottie" Bonisese of Port Orange, Florida. Joan is also survived by grandchildren George K. Engelhardt, Michelle Seigerman, Kelli Ann Prince, Novia Engelhardt, and Carol Harp; great-grandchildren Isabelle, Lindsay, Justin, Daniel, Christopher and Alex; as well as other family and friends.
Joan was preceded in death by her father Andrew Gottlieb Pekrul; mother Lydia Winkler Pekrul; and husband George R. Engelhardt.

The family will hold a memorial service in South Carolina at a later date.
