Obituary for Jodie Mitchell Robinson Sr.
Jodie Mitchell Robinson, Sr., 77, of Clinton, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born October 23, 1940 in Alcorn County, Mississippi to Keener and Alma Michaels Robinson. Jodie attended Lexington Baptist Church, and loved spending time with his family, friends and his church family. Jodie enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering and watching westerns and The Young and the Restless. Jodie also enjoyed helping people and sitting on his porch bird watching.
Jodie was a pipe fitter with Union 665 in Pine Bluff. He also worked as a rigger supervisor with AK Industrial Contractors, Inc. in Searcy, AR. Jodie also worked with General Motors of Detroit, Michigan and the United States Steel Corporation in Gary, Indiana.
Left to cherish Jodie’s memory are his wife of 52 years, Sandra K. Robinson, of Clinton; his children Terry Robinson of Mississippi, Melanie Bradford of Fairfield Bay, Jodie Robinson, Jr. of Clinton, James Harold Robinson of Clinton and Chris Robinson of Clinton. He is also survived by grandchildren Greg Robinson, Taylor Robinson, Samantha Williams, Gregory Robinson, J.J. Robinson, Heather Chapman, Santana Robinson and Heath Huggins and 6 great-grandchildren. Jodie is survived by siblings K.B. Robinson of Mississippi, Buddy Robinson of Mississippi, Oma Reeves of Illinois, Mert Bridges of Mississippi and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Jodie was preceded in death by his parents, son Jerry Robinson, grandson Brian Booher, 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Lexington Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. at Lexington Baptist Church with Reverend John Doyle officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
Pall Bearers are Russ Williams, Chris Robinson, Lenny Weaver, Brandon Gresham, Gary Smith, James Robinson, and Greg Robinson. Honorary Pall Bearers are John Murando.
