Obituary for Johnny Gentry

Johnny  Gentry
Johnny Elvin Gentry, 52, of Greers Ferry, passed away Saturday December 16, 2017. Born January 23, 1965 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to the late Elvin (Ebb) and Betty Barger Gentry, Johnny was a graduate of West Side High School. Johnny worked as a farm hand but was known as a jack of all trades. In his free time, Johnny enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and enjoyed the time he had with his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Becky Sowell Gentry, of the home ; son, Joshua Elvin and wife Lyndsey Gentry of Boonville, AR., and daughter and her fiancé Ashley Michelle Gentry and Jacob Bane of Greer's Ferry, AR.; sisters: Diana Barnum, Reva Gadberry, Evelyn and husband James Southerland, Tammy and husband Danny Richey, Ebbie and husband Terry Lee; grandson, Brody Elvin Gentry; Father and mother-in-law Earnie and Freda Sowell; and many nieces, nephews, friends and other family.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Scotty Gadberry.
Pall bearers will be Aaron Carr, Kyle Human, Justin Lee, Cody Harper, Eddie Whitehurst, Terry Carr.
Honorary Pall bearers will be Jimmy (Stringbean) Stewart, Scott (Six Pack) Davidson, Kevin (Cat) Stewart, Kenny (Pete) Stewart, David Grimes, Cody Richey, Kendall Richey, Jeremy Gadberry.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm at the First Assembly of God Church in Greers Ferry. Services will be Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 10:30 am at the First Assembly of God Church in Greers Ferry with Bruce Harper officiating. Burial will follow at Davis Special Cemetery in Shirley, all under the direction of Clinton Funeral Service in Clinton.
