Martha Estella Schumacher Stackhouse, 86, of Fairfield Bay, passed away December 16, 2016. She was born in Martensdale, Iowa on November 25, 1930 to Bernard and Faye Allen Schumacher. Martha was of the Catholic Faith, a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She made Diddy Bags for the Veterans, and quilting was her favorite hobby.
Left to cherish Martha's memory are her son Robert Stackhouse, Jr. and wife Rita of Urbandale, Iowa and daughter Martha L. Rivers of West Des Moines, Iowa; sister Anna May Goodrich of Martensdale, Iowa. Martha is also survived by her grandchildren, Chris Rivers, Becky Wilden, and Carrie Schall, 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stackhouse, Sr.; her father Bernard Schumacher, and mother Faye Allen Schumacher.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Clinton Funeral Service. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Clinton Funeral Service Chapel with Father Oliver Ochieze officiating. Burial will follow in Settlement Cemetery in Shirley, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the VFW Auxiliary of Fairfield Bay.
