Obituary for Mary Grace Watts

Mary Grace Watts, 89, awoke in the arms of Jesus, on the afternoon of Saturday, January 22, 2022. She was born in Grayville, Illinois on August 21, 1932, to the late William Haywood and Grace Axton Haywood.

One of the sweetest things about Mary is she loved to sing, she always had a song in her heart for you, whether you wanted to hear it or not. She was known as ‘Little Mary’ by her family, as she was a tiny woman, but had a huge heart. She was always available and dedicated to helping others. At times seemingly in the simplest of ways but to the receiver, they were the most meaningful. She had a place in her heart for all she met. She loved the Lord wholeheartedly and was dedicated to being a worker for Him. Mary worked as a waitress most all her life. She had spectacular people skills and she loved what she did, she loved seeing people smile. Later in life, she became a member of the Red Hat Club.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Virgil Watts, and many of her beloved family members.

Mary’s memory will forever be treasured by the multitude of nieces, nephews, and friends she leaves behind.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Clinton Funeral Service Chapel.

Clinton Funeral Service is honored to be entrusted with the services of Mary Watts.
