Obituary for Ricky Burroughs

Ricky Burroughs, 66, of Clinton, went home to Jesus, his Savior and Lord, on March 18, 2020. He was born July 22, 1953 to Lester and Nadine Burroughs of Damascus. Ricky Loved his Lord Jesus Christ, his wife 49 years, Linda, his children, the late Julie Hicks, Rita Barnes (Tim), Danielle Kennedy (Robert) and Chris Burroughs, and the lights of his life, his grandchildren, Alyssa McKnight, Tiffanie Hicks, Joey Hicks, Lilyann Barnes, Eva Barnes and Savannah Kennedy.
Ricky and his son, Chris are partners in business and he also operated a farm with cattle, hogs, chickens, and sheep. Ricky accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in 1990 and surrendered to the Gospel ministry in 1995. He was Children’s Pastor at Clinton First Baptist Church from 2000 until 2002. He was Pastor at Botkinburg Baptist Church from 2003 until 2004 and Pastor of Choctaw Baptist Church from 2004 until his retirement in 2017.
Ricky lead his family to establish, fund and operate Joy Home, a Christian Children’s Home, in Kolar Gold Field, India, where over 100 orphaned children found a safe and loving home. Joy Home still operates today. Ricky really loved people and his desire was that each person he met, whether it be in Clinton, India or anywhere around the world, would benefit both physically and Spiritually because of the contact.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Immanuel Baptist Church, 61 Green Valley Drive, Greenbrier, Arkansas, followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Culpepper Cemetery in Clinton, Arkansas.
