Obituary for Robert Dale Carraway Sr.

Robert Dale Carraway Sr., 74, of Marshall, Arkansas, left this world on August 22, 2022, and woke in the arms of his Savior. He was born to William and Edna Lucille (Sinclair) Carraway, on June 9, 1948, in Bell, Texas.

Robert was survived by his wife Barbara Carraway; daughters, Brandi Walker, Juanita Shockley, Hannah (David) Capel, Katie (Kent) Irvan; sons, Tracy (Amanda) Carraway, Paul (Shanin) Hollis, Bobbie Joe Carraway, Josh (Kay) Hopkins, and Johnny (Araceli) Hopkins and a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William, and Edna Carraway; son, Robert Dale Carraway Jr., brothers, Leroy Burks and Sherman Leon Carraway; and sister, Betty Dean Pennington.

Robert loved the outdoors. He enjoyed his dogs, hunting, fishing, camping, and four-wheeler riding, but nothing compared to the love he had for his family. He and his beloved wife Barbara Carraway were married on April 22, 2001, in Tilly, Arkansas. Robert was a jokester who found pleasure in picking on and bringing smiles and laughter to the people that he loved. He provided a living for his family for many years driving trucks. Robert also loved to sing. He sang with the “Rupert City Gospel Singers” and when he took his last breath his voice was lifted up with the angels and those who had gone on before him. Robert had a full life and fought to the very end. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
