Obituary for Stella Huie (Barnett)
Stella Barnett Huie, 89, of Clinton, Arkansas, passed peacefully on May 13, 2021, at the Ozark Health Nursing and Rehab Center. Stella was born at Arlberg, Arkansas, to the late James Alf Barnett and Vernie Belle McMurty Barnett.
Stella was married to her beloved husband, Henry Huie for 57 years. She was a mother and homemaker. Stella loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her husband and children. Stella spent many evenings sewing and mending her husband's clothing after a hard day's work in the log woods. Stella loved the outdoors and enjoyed many activities outside. She loved gardening and working in her flower beds and in quiet moments she sat peacefully watching the deer out behind her home. Stella made everyone feel welcome that stopped by for a visit. Stella's favorite thing to do was to read her bible. She was of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord and desired to have a close relationship with her Heavenly Father. Stella worked and retired from Banquet Foods.
Preceded in death was her husband, Henry W. Huie; parents, James and Vernie Barnett of Arlberg; two sisters and five brothers.
Stella is survived by her five beloved children, Wayne Huie (Shirley), Greenwood, Arkansas, Anna B. Rose Morrilton, Arkansas, Daniel Huie (Pat) Onalaska, Washington, James W. Huie Clinton, Arkansas; Lori Griffith (David) Scotland, Arkansas; Three siblings: Wonda Gardner and Shelby Barnett of Walla Walla, Washington, Verda Collins (Rick) Conway, Arkansas; She has 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and one due in June.
Services will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 10:30 am at the Plant Baptist on HWY 110. Pastor Leo Murphy will be officiating.
