Obituary for Verletta Rose Martin

Verletta Rose Martin, of Dennard, Arkansas, passed away from this life Sunday, May 8, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 12, 1945, to the late Walter and Helen Donahue Bracha, in Roswell, New Mexico. She met her husband, Larry Martin and they were married at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa on August 12, 1972.

Verletta and Larry spent many happy years together, she was an excellent wife and a very dedicated, supportive, and loving mother. There are many things that she loved doing and was also very good at, fishing, gardening, crocheting, and dancing. Cooking is also one of the many things she enjoyed doing, but along with enjoying it, she was really good at it. Some of the meals she put together could have you thinking about them for a long time. Verletta also served as a Eucharistic Minister for some time. She loved helping people and animals. For a while, Verletta, one of her daughters, and a granddaughter all worked together as hospice nurses. She really felt that God had put her in that place to serve and nurture those going through extremely hard times. It was often told to the families that she was assigned to assist that they were getting the best nurse they had. She was very compassionate and sympathetic, helping families come to terms with the situation.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a baby, Simon Martin.

Left to cherish her precious memory are her husband of fifty years, Larry Martin, children; Jill (Rigo) Alvarado of Irving, Texas, Kristy (Martin) Sowell of Dennard, Arkansas, David (Donna) Ealy of Alburnett, Iowa, Jackie (Kent) Cates of Choctaw, Arkansas, Daniel (Sharmalein) Martin of Dennard, Arkansas, Shawn (Kelly) Martin of Holland, Arkansas, Jared (Trish) Martin, of Dennard, Arkansas, grandchildren; Trystan Alvarado, Krystan Alvarado, Dustin Alvarado, Cassandra Kirkpatrick, Faith Martin, Dustin Ealy, Aaron Cates, Brandon Cates, Kristen Martin, Colton Martin, Carlee Martin, Noah Martin, Conner Martin, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-child on the way, two sisters, many other relatives, and friends.
