Obituary for Wanda Lou Mahaffey (HICKS)
Wanda Lou Mahaffey went to be with her Lord on September 14, 2021, at the age of 82, in her home located at Clinton, Arkansas surrounded by family. She was born to Charles Edward Hicks and Naomi Osborne Hicks on April 1, 1939, in Langley, Kentucky though, she lived most of her life in Ohio.
Wanda was loved by all that knew her and will be deeply missed. Those that knew her spoke of her fondly and as a "Good Woman." She loved her family and love caring for them. Wanda loved spending time outside, she loved to garden, coon hunt, and go catfishing at night. She once broke her ankle catfishing but that didn't slow her down. Wanda also, loves to can the food she grew in her garden and she was known by her family as a very good cook. Wanda was of the Baptist faith.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus Jerome Mahaffey; two children, Karl Edward Mahaffey and Mary Louise Mahaffey; parents, Charles Edward Hicks and Naomi Osborne Hicks; brothers: Vernon Hicks, Eugene Hicks, Donnie Hicks; brother-in-law: Wayne Miller; sisters, Delores and husband Tob Derossett, Phyllis and husband Everett Lauth, Joy and Rainer Brodnicki, and Mary Agness Hicks.
Left to cherish the memory of Wanda is her daughter, Jeri Cooley; sisters: June, and husband Denny Dorsten, Bonita and husband Eric Welker, Pauline Miller; two granddaughters, one grandson, five great-granddaughters, three great-grandsons; two great-great-grandsons, sister-in-laws: Brenda Hicks and Shirley Hicks.
