Ernest Marion Smith Jr., 77 of Clinton, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2020. He was born June 29, 1942 in Sikeston, Missouri to the late Ernest M. Smith Sr. and Ruby R. Hunnicutt. Ernest was a Ground Man Operator for Petit Jean Electric and a founding member of Culpepper Methodist Church. He enjoyed bucking bulls, rodeos, hunting and adored children.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 49 years, Katie Smith; children, Michael Smith (Kerri) of Clinton, Sandra Ramirez of Damascus; one sister, Donna Fergusion of Benton, Arkansas; grandchildren, Clara Jewell, Kirsten Huie, Christopher Fraser, Kevin Fraser; several nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.
Ernest is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest M. Smith Sr. and Ruby R. Hunnicutt; one son-in-law, Donald Ramirez.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 12, 2020, 2:00 p.m. at the home of Ernest Smith, located at 415 Hape Rd. Clinton, Arkansas 72031 with Brother Benny Kidd and Sister Shelia Gardner. Burial will be at Culpepper Cemetery.
