Gillette Shelton Campbell, 90, of Tuckerman, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Harris Hospital in Newport. Born July 20, 1927 in Elora, TN. to the late John Dekalb Campbell and Beulah Simmons Campbell, Gillette was a retired Assembly of God minister and U.S. Navy veteran. Gillette had pioneered 2 churches, was ordained for over 50 years and been a pastor for 59 years during his ministry. He also loved writing and was a published poet.
Left to cherish his ministry are his children, David and wife Ann Campbell of Timbo, Charles Campbell of Timbo, Carol Harper of Tuckerman; one sister, Eunice, one brother J.L.; grandchildren Daryl and Wes Campbell, Aaron Harper, Krista Campbell; great-grandchildren Mollie, Mckenzie, Karson, Tomie Joe, Damien; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Gillette is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Albert, J.D., and Olamae.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 10 am with services following at 11 am at the Timbo Valley Assembly of God Church with Brother Jim Tilghman officiating. Burial will follow in Ramsey Cemetery.
