Obituary for Kenneth Kjeldgaard

Kenneth C. Kjeldgaard of Fairfield Bay, passed away December 16, 2017 in Conway, Arkansas. Kenneth was born March 19, 1927 in Tekamah, Nebraska, to Viqqo and Dena Kjeldgaard.
Following high school, Kenneth served in the Army on the hospital ship 'Comfort' in the South Pacific as a medic. He was very proud of his military service. In recent years, his WWII cap was worn frequently. After serving his country, Kenneth returned to Tekamah, Nebraska to begin farming. In 1988, he retired to Fairfield Bay with his wife Janice. Kenneth was on the Fairfield Bay city council; where he was part of the Incorporation of the Community. He was a long term volunteer of the Fairfield Bay Recycle Center and enjoyed serving.
He leaves behind in addition to; his wife, Janice; daughter, Julie and husband Joe Maxey of Harrison, Arkansas; two sons, Alan and wife May Kjeldgaard of Tekamah, Nebraska, James and wife Val Kjeldgaard of Fremont, Nebraska; grandchildren, Shelley and husband Todd Pennington of Frisco, Texas, Holly Kjeldgaard of Fremont, Nebraska, Tye and wife Kendra Kjeldgaard of Wagner, South Dakota, Erin and husband O'mara of Omaha, Nebraska; great grandchildren, Preston, Alexis and Kaylee Pennington of Frisco, Texas, Trevor and Marlee Kjelgaard of Fremont, Nebraska, Kya, Shea, Eva and Koy kjeldgaard of Wagner, South Dakota as well as many friends and neighbors will miss Kenneth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kathryn Russell of Calistoga, California; brother-in-law Duane Russell of Calistoga, California.
The family has asked that memorials be made to the Volunteer Fire Department on Fairfield Bay, Arkansas.
Service arrangements in Fairfield Bay, Arkansas and Tekamah, Nebraska are still pending.
