Obituary for Lindell Rowan Slayton

Lindell Rowan Slayton, 50, of Damascus, passed away March 16, 2016 in Conway, Arkansas. He was born June 13, 1965 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to Malcolm Rowan Slayton and Wilma Jean Lackey Slayton. Lindell was known for being an inspirational and courageous man who could be hard-headed and was of the Baptist faith.
Left to cherish his memory is his partner in life, Patricia Acklin, daughter Andrea Donahue and husband Clint of Clinton; siblings Joe Slayton of Conway, Jamie Slayton and wife Janetta of Conway, Darien Slayton and wife Carla of Clinton and Ron Slayton and wife Deborah of Sherwood. Lindell is also survived by grandchildren Alyssa Hill of Damascus, Lane Donahue and Layla Donahue of Clinton; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Also surviving Lindell are his close friends Chris Smith of Holland, Arkansas, J.R. Acklin of Cave City, Debra Slayton of Conway and Mark Harris of Morganton and his caregiver Cristie Sledge of Damascus.
Lindell was preceded in death by his parents Malcolm Rowan and Wilma Jean Lackley Slayton.
Lindell will lie in state at Clinton Funeral Service on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Visitation will be Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Pee Dee Cemetery with services at 2:00 pm with Brother Gene Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Pee Dee Cemetery.
Pall Bearers are Jamie Slayton, Joe Slayton, Darien Slayton, Ron Slayton, Derek Collister and Chris Smith. Honorary Pall Bearers are Ty Slayton and Clint Donahue.
