Bill was a good guy - always friendly and in good spirits. My little dog, Jaz, loved him, and Bill was always glad to see him too. It was sad that he became ill so soon after losing Dawn. When he got too weak to make it to the mailbox I became his mail lady, along with any other little jobs that needed doing, so had the opportunity to see and visit with him nearly every day. Two of my adult grandsons and their Dad were here visiting in early November . They enjoyed meeting Bill and sharing stories of their adventures in different countries. They learned more about Bill's professional life in those few days than I knew! He had an exciting life! My son commented about the interesting lamp in the corner, and Bill related how Dawn had discovered his tri-pod tucked away in the corner of the closet, and decided to make a lamp out of it. She was so proud that they got a beautiful lamp for the $20.00 cost of the shade. He said "Yeah, but the tri-pod cost over $200.00!" He will be missed.
