The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Jack Burbridge can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Always a light over Jack

I met Happy Jack a long time ago, and just last week felt the need to look him up.  One night when Jim K. went out of the car on some business (1963), Jack and I talked.  I'd always found him easy to talk to.  I asked him what he was getting out of 'this life.'  He said that he hadn't felt he could leave it (safely) He indicated he didn't see much of his family, I thought maybe even in the holidays of 1963/4 he may have lost them, but didn't want to press him, maybe he just didn't see them much of the time.  I think really that Jack was unhappy but still didn't really want to leave.  When I said to him, "What is a life worth when you lose what means the most to you?"  He just looked at me, thoughtful,  and said nothing.  I have been thinking about him for well over a week, and even ordered his book out of the blue.  Jack always had a light over him even in his darkest hours.

Bless you Jack, let no man sit in judgement of you.  You redemmed your life a thousand times over.  You have a beautiful soul that shone thru and lifted others for more time than you spent in darkness.  The world was better for your life and darker with you absence.
